  1. OH MY GOD. For the last 4 or so days all I've been doing is watching the other top 10 videos over and over. I love them! THIS CAME AT THE MOST ABSOLUTELY PERFECT TIME EVER. OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED.

  3. You should really either write a list in the description or include one at the end. I'll generally watch these top 10 videos with the intention of "getting to them later". When I want to watch a quality contemporary film, these videos are a great resource for me, but its annoying to have to skip through it bit by bit to try and determine what I want to watch. I hope that you don't think doing this would cheapen it.

  5. Hey Adam, thanks for this Top 10. I would've never heard of Jagten(The Hunt), when I didn't watch your top 10. That movie was really great and I'm usually not that type of person, who watches such emotional movies. Thanks for that :)

  6. You really should review Food Fight as the next YMS

  7. Great video, Adam! I'm sold on pretty much all of these.

Vocab word time - when music comes from a source inside the fictional universe (like you mentioned in Amour), it's called diegetic audio. This concept also applies to sound effects (consider a "punching" sound compared to a cartoon slide-whistle noise) and other stuff, too, like user-interface elements in video games (Dead Space, for instance, puts the health bar on the character's back)

  8. Hey, I know this is incredibly lazy but can you put like a list at the end of these kind of top 10 videos? Like the guy below me, it's just really a pain to go back to them since I am so drawn into your commentary and pause the video to write them down.

  9. i love how every film you choose is deeper than the standard. it shows your intelligence and passion, i feel like most people dont really want to think because then the illusion of our self and "our" world would be shattered. like how most religious people dont like the idea that their is no god because they were told that their is one for their whole life and that they have a higher perpose but the idea that they dont scares them, the term sheep is a apt one for it is easier to be shepherded

  11. I liked this list was pretty spot on as all your videos are with the one glaring exception which was martyrs as that was the most pretentious movie I've ever seen and not in a good way it was like the directors said hey let's put together elements of the ring and ju-on the grudge and mix it with hostel and had bunch of religious subtext so now our movie is super deep and artsy seriously I didn't even pay to see martyrs and its the second movie in my life that was so bad I want my time spent watching it back alongside pulse but aside from that your seriously one of the most spot on critics on the net so keep up the good work

  14. WHY IS THE GIRL IN "The Hunt" TALKING IN ENGLISH AT RANDOM TIMES!!!!?? THIS MAKES NO SENSE AND IT BREAKS THE IMMERSION JESUS CHRIST IT'S ANNOYING AS FUCK !

  15. At the end of the video, the poster of each movie is put in from the one in the 15th spot to the top pick.

I don't see how helpful this'll be considering your post is a few months old, but yeah.

  16. How does a person speaking in English every once in a while ruin the immersion? That's actually how it happens in many foreign countries in real life. English is probably the most popular and widely spoken country in the world and that is actually how many people speak in Denmark, as well as many other countries.

  17. Yeah I know what you are talking about but I assure you that this is common in other countries. My family is from Pakistan and they all talk like this too, despite the fact that some of them have never been to an English speaking country.

  18. Well, in Pakistan as well as India ,historically speaking, it's because of the English Occupation during the early 1900

  19. Not exactly. Although there is cultural impact from English occupation, you will almost never see an old person, who actually witnessed occupation first hand or had a parent or relative who did, speaking the way that you are talking about. It is mostly younger people (10-30 years old) who talk this way, due to increased popularity of English language Movies and TV shows around the world.
