I love your reviews and everything, but PLEASE stop with the cheap "I'm going to misinterpret Feminism's position on an issue to highlight the absurdity of the misinterpretation" jokes.
I've done plenty to address double-standards on both sides depending on what's relevant to the review I'm making. The joke was there t preemptively respond to the inevitable "Hitting women isn't funny" comment I would have gotten from at least one person if I had just ended it at saying I wanted to punch her face. I never once implied that it was a perspective that feminists shared. I guess my options were to either respond to the type of comment I just mentioned or respond to a comment like this, so I apologize for offending you but it was definitely not my intention. I don't see how I could have expressed my thoughts on such a useless and annoying character without offending someone, which is pretty much the point I was trying to make.
Irishladdie I disagree with you tumblr feminism has gotten so absurd that it is effectively a satire of it's self and anything that takes them down a peg is A-OK in my book
You just make yourself an easy target to troll, so you can expect comments like that for eternity. By no means change your game. I consider you the best critic since Roger Ebert.
That whisper song is some lazy story telling.8:38 check dem arches.
Thanks for taking time to reply to my comment. I wasn't offended at all, I just see a lot of instances where an audience will misinterpret a statement as anti-feminist, especially statements that sound like they're poking fun of the stereotypical oversensitive 'Tumblr Feminism'. It's unfortunate that the issue has been polarized to the point where almost any vague statement that deals even remotely with a feminist issue can be construed as anti-feminist. Joking about violence - even completely facetious, hyperbolic violence - against women can be a touchy subject and there are a lot of people out there who will use jokes like that to mask their genuine misogyny. Still, the comment you made wasn't particularly problematic and you have a fairly good track record with those sorts of issues. Again, thanks for replying.
Just don't mistake 'Tumblr Feminists' for real Feminists.
I think that's a poster for The xx in Peter's room at 23:34. That makes for a grand total of one redeeming quality in the movie.
While this movie may be hilarious, as a spiderman fan I do wish they could not fuck something up with his character. We haven't gotten a good video game or TV show or much of fucking anything good from him in a while
Thankfully someone has a similar opinion as me regarding this awful film. What a brilliant review/summary this is. I enjoyed it so much I've already watched it twice.ASM2 is a huge movie advertisement, that much is clear but without intentionally doing so, what they've done is actually made an ad showcasing what is wrong with big budget movie making in general, now that is some achievement. They may as well have called this 'How NOT To Make A Movie!'I don't understand why so many keep defending this nonsense either and then go on to say that this obvious trollop is THE best Spiderman film... EVER!?It has some nice action yes, but without any reason for me to care for the characters then it is all meaningless to me.How can Peter Parker/Spiderman be so fundamentally unlikeable in his own movies is just so baffling. What were they thinking...?Oh that's right, they were thinking about $,$$$,$$$,$$$.Now they can also flog this muck to film classes the world over, showing kids how not to create a film... So at least some good may come out of it.
Personally, I adored this movie... If you want to talk about cringe, take an honest look at the Sam Remi spiderman 3. It's painful.
Y'know It doesn't even matter in the end. Despite a few plot flaws this movie was simply "Amazing". I agree with you though on the unnecessary Gwen Stacy love/hate relationship thing. That was really stupid. Everything else in this movie was superb. Well I guess this guy just likes to nitpick. It's natural for most critics now and days.
No True Scotsman fallacy, hombre
This video player is so laggy and glitchy. blegh
I've heard some of Pharell Williams' music... so the question I have is this What the flying hell did Pharell contribute to the score? None of it sounds like something that would come from this man, the dubstep was probably produced by Junkie XL who is credited as one of the "Magnificent Six"...also, really Hans, you needed six extra people to help make one of your weakest scores?
He was the "voice" of Electro's thoughts.
